Hey guys, long time no journal eh? Well, I just thought I'd stop in and let you guys know that I'm a terrible person and a bad liar. Why is that, you ask?

Well...

I just got a new Canon EOS 40D! Whoo! Yeah! Awright!

Excitement aside, I figured that not doing any more photography would be a waste of a very expensive camera. Right now I'm learning all the features (although I just found out how to automatically take 3 different exposures for HDR this morning ), but I'll get to posting up some work once I get everything under control. I'm going to a Red Wings hockey game next month in Columbus and I will be bringing the camera, and I'm also going to Niagra Falls this spring and will definitely be bringing the camera. Not to mention now that I've had a car for some time, I'll be going exploring around SW Ohio looking for some nice subjects.

And I'm still doing my pixel art, recently finished some stuff so I'll post all that up too.

I just thought I'd let those who watch me and enjoy my work that I will not be submitting any new artwork aside from any various pixel work that I may finish. I've grown tired of photography and the limitations that my location and equipment pose, and therefore I will no longer try to take artistic photographs nor will I touch up and submit any that I do take. I will also not be doing any more work in Photoshop for the purpose of artistic creation.

Why? Frankly, I'm burned out on the whole art thing. Art classes in my senior year of high school were a nightmare, I barely passed them and there is quite a rift between my art teacher and I for unknown reasons. I'm absolutely sick of traditional artwork, and I am nearly sick of all digital artwork as well. Its hard to explain, really.

I'm shifting my focuses towards music and school. I am entering my freshman year at the University of Cincinnati, Clermont Campus, and must devote almost all of my time and energy into doing well so that I can transfer early to the main campus of the University of Cincinnati. I have also been playing the guitar more than ever, and I am now in a fun garage band with some friends until the bass player leaves for Utah to attend Brigham Young University at the end of the month. To be honest, I'm enjoying playing music (even if it is all covers) with my friends much more than I have ever enjoyed making art.

So this is just a heads up that I will rarely update this account or even log onto it. I'm jumping into the deep end of life, and I'm determined to enjoy it.

Its been fun... I guess.

EDIT: Its also my own personal opinion that DA has somewhat sold out. It feels more and more like an elitist community than an art community. God, I hate this place.

Its winter now... a really wet, not too wintery winter. I'm busting my balls trying to get my grades up for the end of the semester. Still not driving... Learned some neat stuff in The GIMP for my photos in Photography class, like toning and whatnot. I've been doing some sigs here and there too. They're actually pretty fun timepassers, not sure why I quit before. Haven't don't a whole bunch of pixel stuff lately... just haven't had much inspiration. All I do these days are Nissans, Nissan this and Nissan that, and its kind of drained me a bit.

Christmas time is coming up in a few days... I already know what I'm getting, and I feel bad (and overly greedy) for saying this, but I really kinda wish I was getting more. I could at least use some money (50 or so bucks would be great).

I applied at UC (University of Cincinnati) a few weeks ago and still haven't gotten a response... I hope I get accepted, because its probably too late to apply anywhere else now.

Oh yeah, and I'd like to point out that Madden '08 is indeed the worst game on the face of the planet.

I'm grounded again. Damn summer reading. Its not even due yet!

Anyways. Just an update on how things are going. Photo class is slow, we're going over the basics and doing busy work right now and I'm going crazy. I want to take pictures!

I'm thinking about entering National Geographic's photo contest. I could have a chance to win a 12MP Canon EOS camera! Or at least get my work featured in their magazine, which would be just as cool. I really hope I can do something good!

School sucks, I'm doing poorly in half of my classes like always. Senioritis set in last year. Trig makes me want to punch a baby. My art and photo classes are way to restrictive for me. I'd rather stick my head in the trash than go to English.

Still can't drive my car. I haven't been behind the wheel in over a month. Just driving my mom's car to school and work, and thats about it. I have no clue where I'm going to work after the season is over at the track, probably the mall if I can find a good job. I haven't been to a football game in about a month, it sucks. I have to take my SAT this Saturday at 8:00 AM, then my ACT two weeks later.

I haven't taken any decent pictures in forever. None of them are even worth putting in Scraps. I'm beginning to hate the limits of my camera, and my limited mobility.

And fuck scene kids. I want to cut off all their heads with the same CDs that they buy only in a lame and fruitless attempt to look cool. I can't even listen to half my music without some asshole thinking I'm just another scene kid. Go back to your Kanye West, little bitches. Saosin sucks balls anyways.

Thats right, I'm now the proud owner of a 1997 Honda del Sol Si! I haven't gotten the chance to drive it yet, but so far I love it. The targa top is great, I feel so fancy now. And its a 5-speed manual too, I'll have to get used to that. Now I just have to get my 50 hours in, and I can take my test in November!

I also have a job now. I work the go-karts at the local mini golf place. 7 hour shifts, $6.85 an hour, and a 50 cent bonus at the end of the year for each hour I worked during the season. Oh, and I get free drinks too, that rocks.

I haven't taken many pictures lately, I've been lazy and busy. I'll start taking more, I promise! As soon as I get my car washed up, possibly after I get new tires, I'll do a fancy-pants photoshoot with it.
